Process/Wiki Account Creation

The Wiki Account Creation process addresses the steps and technical component from the point where a visitor chooses to create an account ending where they have been validated as a Wiki user.

Overview

• Visitor selects create an account
• Visitor is required to select a username, password and contact email
• Email is sent to validate the email address
• Visitor receives a validated account

Requirements

• Unique username
• Password that meets strength requirements
• Email address to receive email and click validation link
• Ability to successfully validate captcha

Areas for review

• E-mail sent to user for account validation could also include a welcome message and links to some introductory presentations
