Mark your calendars: upcoming Wikimedia Canada events

It’s going to be a busy end of the year for Wikimedia Canada and our contributors! We have an exciting lineup of events for everyone, from new contributors to seasoned editors. Join us for various workshops designed to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of specific Wiki projects. Participate in themed campaigns that make contributing fun, and don’t miss our in-person events, perfect for connecting with fellow enthusiasts.

October 1-31, 2024: Wiki Loves Monuments 2024 campaign
During the month of October, users are invited to take pictures of historic places in Canada and upload their best shots to Wikimedia Commons.

October 4-6, 2024: WikiConference North America – Indianapolis, IN (USA)
The 11th annual gathering of Wikimedians, institutions, and professionals from across North America.

October 10, 2024: Wikimedia Commons workshop – online
A virtual one-hour workshop to learn more about Commons as well as how to contribute to the Wiki Loves Monuments contest in Canada.

October 20, 2024: WikiClub Toronto meetup

October 31 to November 3, 2024: WikiConvention francophone – Quebec City, QC
The conference that brings together French-speaking contributors from all over the world.

As always, Wikimedia Canada will close the year with its annual donation campaign, running from the end of November until December 31, to support Wiki projects across the country.

January 15 – February 15, 2025: #1Lib1Ref Campaign (more details to come)
A campaign for library staff and anyone who has a passion for free knowledge to add missing references to articles on Wikipedia.
